Looking At Kia Rondo Used Cars

on

Used cars like the Kia Rondo were added to the Kia line up back in 2007. This vehicle is a throwback of what some automakers were doing ten years ago with the small wagon/van. Kia designed and built this vehicle to compete against the Mazda5 but offers a five or seven seat configurations, compared to only a six seat configuration the Mazda5 offers. There are two models to choose from, the base model and the EX-V6 Luxury model. Both these models are apparently real reliable, so my research will be on the Kia Rondo as a used vehicle to look at.

The Kia is a midsize wagon that has five passenger seating and an option for a third row to seat seven. Some of the safety features that come standard on used cars like the Kia are antiskid control and ABS brakes. Other safety features include curtain side airbags and front side airbags that cover all seating throughout the vehicle. Some Standard features that come with both of the Kia Rondo models are power locks, power windows and power mirrors. There are added options you can get with the EX luxury model that include heated seats and leather upholstery. The Kia competes directly against the Mazda5, Chevrolet Cobalt and the Ford Focus just to name a few.

There are several different fuel statistics for the different engine sizes the Kia as to offer. The base model (the four cylinder engine) has a fuel rating of 11-litres, per 100km for city driving and 7.5-litres, per 100km, for highway driving. The EX luxury model (the V6 engine) had a fuel rating of 11.6-litres, per 100km, for city driving and 7.7-litres, per 100km, for highway driving.

Engine power varies from 2007 to 2009. In 2007 the base model had a four cylinder, 2.4-litre engine and this produced 162 horsepower. The EX model had a V6 engine and this produced 182 horsepower. In 2009 the base model (four cylinder engine) added power giving it 175 horsepower and the V6 boosted up to 192 horsepower.

Let’s look at some of the pros and cons of the Kia Rondo as a used vehicle:

1- A leading online consumer watchdog gives the Rondo an €above average€ rating as a used vehicle.
2- The air conditioning compressor is known to stop working.
3- The Brake pads are known to wear out faster than usual.
4- The rotors are known to warp easily and this gives the vehicle an unwanted vibration.

I hope this helps if you’re looking at Kia used cars like the Rondo.
