The 2007 Nissan 350 Z: The Best Z Car

on

Nissan is known for the Z car – the sports car that they market under the Nissan plate instead of the Infiniti brand. This line of sports cars was first marketed though under the now defunct Datsun brand. The Z car traces its roots back to the original Nissan S30 which was produced starting from the 1969 until 1978. From that beginning, the Nissan Z Car is now in its fifth generation and is marketed under the name Nissan 350 Z. The fifth generation of the Z Car started in 2003 and for the 2007 model year, the 350 Z is considered to have become a strong competitor in its class and is considered also as the best Z car for now in terms of power and overall performance.

Compared to last year’s Nissan 350 Z, this year’s version shows a lot more sports car attributes performance enthusiasts are looking for. One of the most appealing attributes of the 350 Z is that it is a good car to drive everyday. Its suspension settings give the driver and passenger of this coupe a comfortable ride. Driver-friendly features such as the manual shift lever and the responsive clutch make the 350 Z a strong competitor in its class in terms of ride comfort.

The powerplant of the current Z car is a 3.5-liter V6 engine which can produce as much as 306 horsepower and 268 lb-ft of torque. The engine for the 2007 model year produces more power than its predecessor with the help of a dual-inlet air intake system which complements the Nissan headers used in the construction of the engine. The variable cam timing is also another reason for the additional horsepower. Higher compression ratio is also responsible for the additional horsepower output of the new engine. For the 2007 model year, two transmissions are available to be paired with the engine. A five-speed automatic and a six-speed manual gearbox is the transmission choice for the current model of the Z car.

In terms of safety, the 2007 Nissan 350 Z is equipped with the anti-lock braking system with the brake assist feature. This offers stable stopping power especially with the power output of the engine. Side-impact and side curtains airbags are available as optional features for the coupe version of the 350 Z. For the convertible version, the side-impact airbags are standard features. Traction control is standard for both coupe and convertible models. Standard also for the two body types is a tire pressure monitoring system. These features make the 350 Z a strong competitor in its class.
