Toyota Etios, initially known as EFC or the Entry Family Car, is a series of four door sedan and hatchback cars produced by the Japanese car company Toyota. The car was launched in the year 2010 and has been doing well in the Indian market since then. Toyota displayed both the sedan and hatchback versions of the Etios in the 2010 Auto-Expo held in New Delhi. The Toyota Etios was developed as a concept car mainly for the Indian market. Toyota Etios Sedan has undergone a 200 thousand real world testing in India. Mileage, space, style and price are the factors that are given priority while developing this concept car. It offers quality with high standards at competitive price.

The hatchback and sedan are available in both diesel and petrol engines. The 1364 cc diesel engine is equipped with 67 bhp at the rate of 3800 rotations per minute. The petrol engine comes with 1496 cc, which has 88 bhp at the rate of 5600 rotations per minute. The only available gearbox is of 5-speed manual Front Wheel Drive. The car can accommodate five passengers. It also has a power steering for a smooth drive. Toyota Etios is the lightest among this segment of cars. The engine is new, which is not used in any other cars of Toyota. This new engine has been specially built for the Indian roads and it gives a mileage of about 17.5 kilometres per liter.

The design of the car is a result of long perseverance and gives it a perfect blend of local design with global quality standards. The vehicle has an innovative style and interior with space for a comfortable ride. It also gives a mileage that is best in class at competitive price. The Etios has been thoughtfully designed to give ample legroom and headroom for the passengers. The variants of Etios are available with or without 12 spoke alloy for the tyres. Safety features like airbags and ABS with EBD are present in the higher variants of the car. There are front ventilated discs and brake drums at the rear which enhance the safety of the car.

The Toyota Etios sedan is a tough competitor for Tata Indigo Manza, Maruti Suzuki Swift Desire and Mahindra Logan. The hatchback version goes head to head with the likes of Chevrolet Beat, Honda Brio, Maruti Swift, Maruti Ritz, Ford Figo and Nissan Micra.

Toyota has taken care to combine the best of its features in the Toyota Etios hatchback and sedan. The engine is specially designed to have a smooth ride through the Indian roads, and it is doing well.
