on

However, there is another feature that differentiates probably more, and is the approach, between technical and commercial, behind each of them. Although Abarth officially presented as a separate brand, does not have the same independence as Alfa-Romeo and Lancia, within the Fiat Auto Group conglomerate, in fact, rather a department or sub-brand of Fiat, as it only works on models latter. But what it does have is a very strong personality, offering versions of only two models on which for now works (500 and Punto Evo), and especially those that mount the SS kit, have a very definite purpose: to convey to driver sensations close to those of a race car (Tourist, that is), even at the price of some loss of comfort, both acoustic suspension. It is assumed that anyone looking for Abarth does not mind a little more sound and stay dry, even on the contrary, seeks this perception of sensations that are traditionally considered as own a car and differentiating radical and high benefits.

Meanwhile, Alfa-Romeo is a brand that traditionally has a very definite identity: outside convertibles and coupes, has been a pioneer in offering what we have subsequently agreed to define as sports saloons. Well before Mk.II Jaguar, BMW body of “02” and the Golf GTI, even in the ’50s, the Giulietta and Giulia were after a five-seat sedan whose level of performance both as ruder prestacional drove him many sporting colors (at least in appearance). And all this without sacrificing comfort, both suspended and not sound out of tune with the average level of the saloons of the era. Thus, the MiTo Quadrifoglio Verde this is but another version, although more performance, a large model series, and therefore respects and comfort levels welcome everyday use in the case of Abarth not covered
A car whose looks, and throughout the range of this brand, is one of its strengths, both for its intrinsic beauty as to maintain a distinctive brand image clearly, allowing them to distinguish away the boring uniformity of much current offer. And for that, nothing like starting the full sheet:

The engine, in its basic mechanical components, is exactly the same in both: block, cylinder head, moving parts, and distribution diagram MultiAir camshaft (only one for exhaust), and injection lubrication and cooling systems, but there is a change in the turbo, which is again a Japanese IHI Garrett used instead of the Abarth. And thereby blowing management is more discreet, two steps (Normal and Dynamic) of 230 and 250 Nm, while the Abarth is only one, which reaches 270 Nm, because its blowing turbo 3.0 bar, while the MiTo does not exceed 2.35 and 2.65 bar at both management steps. Furthermore, the air filter takes Abarth BMC and larger diameter exhaust and sonority.
