The Audi A4 is Roomy and Attractive

When Audi started to work on second generation of the A4, it set its sights on increasing interior space and driver appeal. Audi achieved these tasks successfully by creating a real competitor to the BMW 3-Series and Mercedes Benz C Class. It is solidly built, has attractive looks, beautifully made interior and a wide choice of powerful and efficient petrol and diesel engines. ItEUR(TM)s not quite as rewarding as its main rival the BMW 3-Series but is just as comfy and well engineered.

The A4 was originally available with just three engines. There were two light weight petrol engines; a 2.0 litre with 130bhp and a 3.0-litre V6 with 220bhp. There is also a 2.5 litre V6 diesel Audi A4 engine delivering 180bhp. The 1.8L A4 was upgraded in 2004 to 190bhp. In 2004, the 100bhp 1.9 TDI was changed to115bhp engine. A five speed manual gearbox is standard, while some models get an option of Multitronic CVT or Tiptronic automatic transmission.

Audi has made an impressive improvement on earlier models and has been tweaked to deliver a relaxing drive that is agile yet highly calm. The ride is firm compared to other German competitors but you get a more sporty drive. ItEUR(TM)s good in turning with very less body roll and agile steering. ItEUR(TM)s not on the same level as the BMW-3 Series but itEUR(TM)s not far behind either. The space has been increased significantly over the previous versions and longer journeys are much more interesting as well. The Audi A4 rides very smoothly on the motorway and can go for hours with negligible fuss and noise. The rigid suspension, particularly Sport models, gets a little bit uncomfortable in town. The Audi A4 is a very practical compact executive saloon with luxurious and spacious cabin.

The cabin hasnEUR(TM)t got that much of a storage space but the boot is an improvement on the previous version. The space at the rear is good but tall passengers may find it a little confined. It scored four-stars in Euro NCAP crash test and comes with lots of safety equipment. All models get ABS and ESP as standard whereas an anti-theft alarm and VIN-etched windows are also fitted. There are six safety air bags fitted as standard while the rear side airbags are optional. The Audi A4 is a very reliable car like all other models in AudiEUR(TM)s range.

Make sure you read the service history before purchasing it and get it serviced on time. The Audi A4 performs brilliantly in every aspect. ItEUR(TM)s a luxurious, elegant and spacious saloon. It is a supreme quality vehicle with good standard equipment levels and wide choice of engines. The diesels are the best performers as they are quick and efficient. On the other hand Sporty S line and efficient TDIe trims have a firm ride. It may not be as sharp as the BMW 3 Series or it has showy LED lights Nonetheless, Audi A4 has strong resale values which make it a brilliant choice for business and private buyers.
