The Fascinating Future: Kia Niro Concept

on

The engineers at Kia have successfully introduced a concept car, the Niro. The Niro is a purposeful, dynamic crossover, which boasts sleek butterfly doors. Despite it stylish exterior, it is a surprisingly sturdy vehicle, designed for upwardly, mobile urban lifestyles. Given its compact design, the Niro is set for the B-segment market. B-Segment is a European destination for vehicles that are small, yet have a spacious interior.

Every year, the official auto shows debut the latest models from all key automobile makers. Based on fundamental vehicle specifications, listed on Edmunds.com, this latest addition to the automotive segment was launched prior to the 2013 Frankfurt Auto Show. The inspirational ideation of the Kia Niro was developed in Frankfurt under the direction of Europe’s Chief car designer, Gregory Guillaume.

Design studios rely on auto shows as a method to gauge customer’s potential interest in a particular vehicle. To combat choice fatigue among other hybrids, the Kia Niro Concept sets itself apart with premium features that outmatch any other crossovers. The next generation Niro with its seven speed transmission, hybrid drive train, dual clutches, and fully turbo charged 160 mph, 1.6 liter T-GDI engine, isn’t just all power. It presents a customize solution for rising gas prices. The Nitro’s design makes the driver feel in charge of the vehicle’s power, while remaining on the road for extended periods, without the need for re-fueling.

Creating a diverse assortment of signature features to keep car buyers satisfied in the future is a big challenge, since customers will only stick around if they are truly impressed with the technology.

The Kia Niro Concept vehicle has an impressive stack of signature features, which include a €tiger-nose€ front end and towing hooks on the back end. The butterfly doors swing up with a set of low flush handles that linked directly to a roof panel, mounted into the doors are Plexiglas mirrors with built-in cameras. The air outlet is mounted within an encased bonnet. The dashboard, the front interior and the digital instrument cluster provide a choice of two different finishes in either €Anodised€ black or €Limelight€ aluminum. Anodising refers to a coating and fabrication process, which increases the thickness of the aluminum. In the case of the Kia Niro, this helps to make the automobile more sturdy.

Crossover vehicles in general, are designed for multiple purposes. A great deal of attention has been paid to the interior detailing of the Kia Niro, including the large cargo area. The Kia Niro Concept is fitted for navigational and informational functions with satellite mapping and Bluetooth as well. Additionally, the front and rear mounted video cameras allow the driver to maintain constant views of the highway from different angles.

Kia, once tagged as an off-priced competitor to Hyundai, is now hoping to attract more customers based on its innovative, hybrid concept car. The attractive, sporty Kia Niro is the real key to expanding the brand. At first glance, the Niro looks like a high end vehicle with its sleek, sporty shape and impressive, large wheels. Other modern, urban features include a cube shaped, black and silver theme with a bright lemon-lime yellow highlighted grille, LED, three-dimensional head and tail lights. Cylindrical consoles, individual shifter gears and paddles and a center mounted instrument panel with a TFT screen.

The Kia Niro Concept is expected to be released in 2015, with an estimated price tag around $16, 500. The vehicle is ready for futuristic driving with its ultra-sleek styling. The exterior is unique and appealing with a dark, black color called, €Nightfall,€ and this is flanked by the brushed strokes covering the stainless steel roof. The running board is flushed from front to back and makes a complete unbroken line around the extended circumference of the car.

Perhaps, the most impressive aspect of the Kia Niro is that it doesn’t require a plug-in; the battery recharges itself through resurgence braking.
