The Tuned Ferrari 458 Speciale With Concave Wheels and More Power

on

The Ferrari 458 Italia has been an incredibly successful supercar since it was first unveiled and rolled off the factory line at Maranello, Italy. The supercar has all the performance and all the tools to make it successful and fast on the race track or on the road. The supercar’s performance was very good but the Ferrari team knew that more could be extracted from it so they developed the Ferrari 458 Speciale that is specially designed to dominate on the race track and uses all sorts of advanced technology to make it even more potent than its Italia coupe counterpart. One German aftermarket tuning company wanted to take things up a notch even more and make it more of a competitor on the track so they designed a full tuning program that includes new aerodynamics, concave wheels, engine tuning, and more.

The first aspect of the tuning program that the German aftermarket tuning company focused on was the high revving 4.5 liter V-8 engine that makes a whole lot of power right off the factory line. The naturally aspirated engine is capable of revving up to 9,000 RPM and the German team was more than happy to work with it. They added on a new ECU software tuning program that altered everything from fuel delivery, ignition, timing, and air to fuel mixture to ensure that more power could be created. The naturally aspirated engine was also equipped with a new Inconel lightweight exhaust system that reduced backpressure and shed 7 kilograms of weight for better all around performance. The end result is a total of 468 kW at 9,250 RPM and 572 Nm of torque at 5,500 RPM reaching both of the rear concave wheels. This also enables the Ferrari 458 Speciale to reach a top speed of 330 km/h.

With so much power being created, the chassis had to be optimized and modified to handle the forces. Here, the German tuning company opted to install a new set of sport springs that lower the ride height by 15 mm for a better center of gravity. The factory rim and tire setup was removed and replaced with new NF4 forged concave wheels that have a unique five spoke design. The concave wheels measure 9.0 x 21 up front and 12.5 x 21 at the rear and wear Pirelli PZero high performance tires as well.

The body also received some new aerodynamic upgrades. The front fascia has a new carbon fiber spoiler and center blade along with air inlets. New side skirts help to optimize airflow as it moves towards the rear and meets the new carbon fiber spoiler and diffuser setup.
