The name of Bugatti is not so well known, but it is popular and adored among the car enthusiasts, though a few thousand of car models have been produced. The company, which was founded by Ettore Bugatti in France, is famous for producing the fastest cars with the most unique design in the world. The company is one of the first automobile producers which still exist till nowadays. During the last fifteen years it has experienced a new rebirth.

In the end of 20s beginning of 30s it seemed like Bugatti would be one the prime rivals in the races: the team of Bugatti company won the world`s first Monaco Grand Prix in 1929. The next important event happened soon – Jean-Pierre Wimille, the driver of the company, won the 24 hours race of Le Mans two times (in 1937 and in 1939).

The company achieved fame for its high-quality engineering. Bugatti was known for creating engine blocks that had been hand scraped, which meant they didn`t need gaskets and exposed engine compartment. The British company and the main rival of Bugatti on the automobile market was Bentley. Both Bugatti and Bentley produced a limited number of car models, most created manually. Only a few samples of the Bugatti models were produced due to their exclusivity.

However, Bugatti Company suffered the same fate as many other automobile companies during the World War II because of the lack of materials. Nevertheless it produced one car model in 1950s. The company went into the decline after it was purchased for the airplane parts division. It has shown up again in the racing world in 1990s, when the brand was bought by Volkswagen and the work on a series of the test cars started. At the moment Bugatti joined the list of some famous and unknown racers. It happened after appearing the Veyron 16.4 model in the USA and its debut in Sicily some years later.

Speaking about the Bugatti history it should be mentioned about the Lamborghini designers as well as about purchasing the Lotus car company, which is evidence to the high-powered following of the brand. In 1998, under Volkswagen, Bugatti started its work on the the EB118 concept. This model was a touring sedan with an 18 cylinder W-configuration engine. The two-door coupe had 555 horsepower. In a year the new model EB218, a four-door limousine, took part in the Geneva Auto Show. The closest competitors of EB118 and EB218 were the Veyron 16.4 and the Chiron.

Bugatti car models with unique design, high-quality machines proving the fact that though the brand`s owner had changed but the quality of the product remains the same. Bugatti brand is still one of the most favorite but inaccessible brand for many cars enthusiast.
